Umbrella Save the Dates
Carli from FL wrote on June 22, 2016:

Super cute and easy to assemble but be aware that they mails horribly. Each one of my recipients invitations were ripped up and damaged due to the quality of the envelope and the uncontrollable manhandling by the USPS. I don't suggest them unless you can hand deliver with care. It's a shame because I spent over $100 on just 25 invitations. The envelopes should be more sturdy. I'm very disappointed!

The invitations are gorgeous. I bought them knowing that the umbrellas broke easily when sent by mail. It would be great if you offered an option to buy them with padded envelopes for a premium. Also, we are getting married in saint Vincent and the Grenadines, the name is too long so this caused that the umbrella covers half of it; it would be great if in the personalization process you limited the number of words per line to aviod this.

Great Theory, Terrible delivery

Fell in love with these the first time I saw them! Nothing else compared. Recieved order faster than expected and was pleased. UNTIL... I was stuffing them and the envelopes were cheap and were hit or miss on sealing had to tape all of them shut. Also started asking around and majority of them arrived broken which runnied the card the cards arrived smugged with the color of the umberellas and sticks were broken. So bottom line they do not travel well. Very Vey Cute and Fun but the odds of arriving intact are not high. DONT DO IT! Also makes me hesitant to order wedding invitations from here based on the bunk quality of the envelopes.

Super Cute

Type of Save the Dates people will talk about and remember. Fun and flirty and perfect for a beach, destination wedding. Fit the personality of both me and my fianc´┐Ż and honestly our friends and family as well. Made of great stock and the colors were exactly how they appeared in preview online.

Great company! Had an issue with the holes being punched in the wrong spot. They promptly responded to my email and rush delivered a new order to me. Awesome. We love them. Perfect for our destination beach wedding!!!

Love it and Can't wait to show it off!

This product is great and it was exactly as it appeared on the website. Our reception venue has an actual built in bar with cocktail tables and we needed these cocktail napkins to tie our theme in to that area, these will make that happen. Thanks Invitations By Dawn. I love your products. My order shipped so quick, it was hard to believe that they customized my napkins and shipped them in such a short period of time. The shipping company got them to us in just a few days and they were in perfect condition. The webchat service offered works! I've ordered several products thus far and did chat several times with the same representative. She was professional, knowledgable, she was responsive and when I needed help with a promo code, she said that she would correct the error behind the scenes and send me a new invoice and she promptly did what she said that she would. I love these folks!

Love, love, love these Save the Dates!

I used these as Save the Dates for our destination wedding in the British Virgin Islands. They were a perfect way to start setting the tone for our destination wedding!I really liked the way the text was laid out on the card. The paper is of good quality however, when you put the umbrella through the holes it causes the card to 'wave' - you just need to bend the paper a bit to smooth it out.I took them to the Post Office, used 66 cent postage and asked for them to be hand stamped. Make sure you ask for hand stamp (no charge!) so that the umbrellas do not break in the sorting machines. We put a little sand in the envelopes as well - and they all made it to their destinations with out any umbrellas breaking. Our guests loved them!

Fun Save the Dates!

Love the Save the Dates! Just be sure to meet with the post office regarding shipping prior to ship. Although the weight and size fit within the standards of a regular stamp, due to the umbrellas, you will need to pay extra (approx 5 stamps per). Totally worth the cost bc they are so cute and inexpensive to order. The one thing I would like to see changed; however, is a thicker envelope. The envelope should be similar card stock as the invite not only to match, but also to protect the umbrella and card inside. With a thicker envelope, you wouldn't be able to see the save the date through it as well. Overall, fun save the dates!!

Love these

Love the save the dates it was easy to customize, they arrived quickly and we plan to buy more invitations for Dawns. The only con was the envelope was kinda flimsy and I had to place them in an additional envelope for shipping which of course cost more in postage.

Got a lot of great feedback

A lot of the umbrellas broke through the mail system scanners, but guests still loved them.

Even better in person!

We had these Save the Dates customized as the invites to our Engagement Party (a casual backyard BBQ). The reviews are unanimous - everyone loves them! They are worth every penny (nearly $3 each). Note: you will need the 66 cent postal stamp for these and my post office recommended them being hand stamped so the postage machine doesn't crush the envelope/umbrella. Prompt delivery. Prompt customization. Not a single complaint.

Cute card, unexpected postal issues
Raven fan from MD wrote on February 21, 2013:

My fiance and I loved this save the date card since it was simple yet beachy and the umbrella was a unique touch. The problem we had was that after taking these cards, ready to be mailed in the envelopes, to two separate post offices, we were told by both that the cards probably would not all make it to their recipients without being damaged, since the umbrellas make the envelopes bumpy and more likely to be bent or broken by the mail sorting machines. We then ended up sending each card in a small padded package to each person which cost significantly more money. I still like the cards but I wish there had been some warning of this issue when I originally bought them. I called and spoke with customer service who said they had never heard of such an issue with these cards. I find that hard to believe, unless the people using them previously did not send them via mail.

So fun!

Website was so easy, samples and orders shipped so quickly and the finished product was perfect!! Finished product paper and ink was even better quality than the samples. We will definitely be getting our invites and Thank Yous from Invitations by Dawn!

Darling and too fragile
Susi from NC wrote on September 27, 2012:

These came out so cute and we were so excited, but they did not survive the post office. After lengthy conversation with supervisor at post office, the umbrella is the problem. Nothing that thick, long and pointy is going to survive the sorting machines, even if they get hand canceled, which mine did not. If you want to mail these, a specialty envelope, heavier than what we ordered from this site and maybe even a padded one, would be necessary and the cost might not be worth it.Our recipients were so upset, many didn't want to tell us, but after the first one told me, I started asking. No one I spoke to received an unbroken umbrella...at least half our people.

Super cute!!!
Denise from FL wrote on September 16, 2012:

I have had sooo many great compliments on these save the date cards but the most disappointing thing is that most of the umbrellas were broken by the time they were delivered. Great idea but they don't hold up well to the abuse of the postal sorting machines I guess. I would say out of the 10 conversations I have had about them 8 were broken, people were actually sad!! Great services, the first batch I got the font was so small you couldn't read the wedding website. Sent an email and they redid them right away for me. Great customer service!!!!
