Nude is pretty much at the top of the list when it comes to neutral tones. In fact, the color is so incredibly neutral you barely notice it. Are you surprised it would even make the list of wedding color possibilities? We were! However, the more we played with this hidden gem the more we loved it. Plum is an absolute knockout next to nude and our guess is this unassuming pair will be winning a lot of hearts this year.

Color Crush: Nude and Plum

Just plum beautiful!
The color plum is just a shade darker than grapevine with more of an earthy finish. It falls right in line with other shades of purple like wine and raisin, which is why it’s an absolutely wonderful color for vineyard weddings and fall weddings. It’s incredibly elegant and easily creates beautifully defined details especially when paired with nude. We thought the Boho Elegance Wedding Invitation was a stunning choice for introducing this Color Crush. We customized the invitation with mulberry flowers and rose gold foil details.

In the nude…
Scandalous, we know! Let’s remember we’re talking about wedding decorations here and as far as decorations go, nude is the perfect backdrop for pretty much everything. Nude apparel is especially sophisticated. The bride’s shoes are adorable and the groom’s tux is refreshing and handsome. Off white and ivory flowers paired with pink and plum create a bouquet of delightful variety perfect for carrying down the aisle or displaying on your reception tables.

If in doubt, remain neutral.

Plum is a strong color, which means you don’t want to overdo it at your ceremony or reception. We recommend pops of plum throughout all of your decorations and on your wedding stationery like the invitations, ceremony programs and place cards. If you’re not sure about adding it somewhere, stick with nude. It’s better to be safe than to oversaturate your venue.
