2014WeddingGownTrends

Fall offers lots of things to look forward to, like pumpkin spice lattes, crackling fires, chunky sweaters and beautifully colored leaves. But what I’m most excited about are the fall 2014 wedding dress trends! With every new season comes new gown details to adore, so without further ado, here are a few of my favorites:

Naked lace
Lace has always been big in the wedding industry, there’s no doubt about that. But this fall, lace is being transformed thanks to a nude underlay. The nude base gives lace gowns a soft, elegant and romantic feel (perfect for a formal wedding theme). The lace detailing stands out among the nude color for a stunning contrast.

Pink
Move over white – pink is making a statement. This hue provides your bridal ensemble with a dainty feminine vibe, and complements virtually every skin tone. You can go with a very light shade of pink, almost like an off-white, or you could opt for a bold bright pink gown, which Vera Wang has included in her 2014 Fall Bridal Collection.

Crop tops
I saw this daring trend on the runway at the 2014 Emmy Awards on “Modern Family” star Sarah Hyland. It’s such a fun and flirty look, and many brides are embracing it. This cropped style provides a peek at just a hint of the midriff to keep your wedding look classy and beautiful.

Feathers
Feathers are being used to add a bit of unique texture and detailing to wedding gowns. Many designers use feathers at the bottom of dresses to create a 1920s flapper look, a la “The Great Gatsby.”

Lattice detailing
Illusion necklines and dainty sleeves made out of lattice, a net-like material, are all the rage on the runways. This trend offers a romantic feel similar to lace, but provides a look all its own. The netting material can even be paired with lace for a stunningly detailed gown.
