For a classic wedding dress, you can never go wrong with lace. Just look to the royal Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton. There’s not likely to be a day where she looks back at her wedding pictures and regrets lace. It’s a soft, delicate and feminine material that anyone can rock walking down the aisle. Select a dress shape that emphasizes your natural curves.
When it comes to makeup, most artists will tell you that a natural look is one of the best ways to go. You’ll still look like you, just with even more flawless skin, eyes and lips! Barely-there makeup is always effortlessly beautiful. It’s all about enhancing what you were already born with. Here’s how to use your cosmetics to your advantage to get a natural makeup look for your wedding day:
Cleanse: Start by gently cleansing your skin to give you a clear canvas to work with.
Primer: Next, apply a primer that matches your skin tone to ensure your makeup lasts throughout the entirety of your wedding.
Foundation: Always choose a foundation that matches the color of your natural skin tone. However, if you’re planning on tying the knot outside in the bright sunlight, it’s OK to select a foundation that’s just slightly darker than your natural skin tone because the sun illuminates everything, and you won’t want your face to look washed out. Apply with a damp sponge for even coverage.
Concealer: To ensure an even skin tone, use concealer to eliminate redness and blemishes and give you a picture perfect complexion. Finish off the look with a light dusting of powder on your T-zone (forehead, nose, chin and the area around the mouth).
Blush: Give your face a flush of color by applying blush to the apples of your cheeks. Select a cream blush, which mimics the natural dewiness of your skin. Choose a soft rose or peach tone for a subtle splash of color.
Keep your accessories as classic as your dress and makeup with a necklace of gleaming pearls or a headband of delicate flowers. If you’re going for bold earrings, forgo the necklace, and vise versa.
