These days, photo booths at weddings are almost as necessary as a cake and the rings. Guests love being able to snap funny photos that they can share with the bride and groom and even take home for themselves to remember the big day.
Make your own backdrop
The background in your photo booth can say a lot about your wedding theme. For instance, flowers would be perfect for an outdoor rustic affair. Instead of a boring gray backdrop, consider any of these fun and simple ideas that can apply to a bunch of different wedding styles:
Chalkboard: Guests will love drawing on it and scribbling messages to the happy couple.
Balloon wall: Select balloons that match your wedding’s color palette for a whimsical background.
Colorful ribbons: Let variously colored ribbons dangle from a string to produce a fun and laid-back setting for your photo booth.
Paper garland: Use cardstock or construction paper to make your own geometric-themed garland. Cut the paper into fun shapes like squares, diamonds, triangles and circles.
Sequined paper: Can’t get enough sparkle and shine at your wedding? Use shimmering paper cut-outs to fill the background with a metallic sheen.
Add props
What’s a photo booth without some props? Your props can also adhere to your wedding theme. For example, if you’re having Disney-inspired nuptials, you can offer your guests silhouettes of Disney princesses like Belle, Ariel, Cinderella and Snow White. If your big day is focused around a modern aesthetic, you can opt for more general props, like a fun mustache, lips, glasses, hats or wigs.
Create a scrapbook
Ask your guests to print two copies of the photos that they take. This way, your loved ones can take their pictures home with them, but they can put the additional set of photos in a scrapbook for you and your spouse to check out later. Have your guests write a note or sign their names next to the pictures.
