Getting engaged is huge news, and the first thing you’re going to want to do when you finally get that rock delicately placed on your finger is spread the news to all your loved ones. But before you excitedly blurt it out or choose wedding invitations, consider any of these unique ideas to announce your engagement:

Send out engagement announcements
For those guests that you can’t share the news with in person, send out special engagement announcements in the mail. Choose your favorite picture of the two of you to include in the invitation and be sure to show off that ring! This Big News – Engagement Party Invitation gets the message out there loud and clear with an elegantly written “We’re engaged!”

A movie poster
Photoshop really comes in handy if you’re going with this option. Choose your favorite movie poster and Photoshop your faces into the picture. You can also adjust the wording on the poster. Instead of “The Notebook,” how about “The Wedding?”

Take a sweet picture
Hire a photographer for a fun engagement photo shoot that you can share with all of your friends and family. Have your photographer capture you two smooching while holding up a sign that says “I said yes” or “He stole my heart so I’m stealing his last name.”

Make a wedding website
Get together with your future spouse to create a wedding website with the details of how he or she popped the question. Be sure to include plenty of photos of you and the ring. Then you can share the link on social media or email it to friends and family – once they open the link, they’ll be receiving the best news ever.

Tell a little kid
Next time you’re together with your family or friends, share the big news with a little one. Chances are, they’ll blurt out the message to everyone fairly quickly (and it will be adorable). When everyone looks up at you for confirmation, you can show off your new bling and watch everyone’s jaws drop.

Say it with a T-shirt
Print the words “Future Mrs. [insert name]” on a white T-shirt before you head over to your friend’s or family’s house. Wear a sweater or a sweatshirt over it and after a little while, casually take off the sweater and wait for your loved ones to freak out (in a good way).
