Just because you may be out of college doesn’t mean that you have to stop showing your love for your school! In fact, many couples are working their alma matter into their big day. I’ve got some creative ideas on how you can incorporate your college into your nuptials.
A college venue
Some couples go as far as actually tying the knot at their college. And hey, if you have the opportunity to do so, why not? It’s a super romantic notion to go back to the football stadium in which you both watched the games and fell in love. Tie the knot on the 50-yard line! If having the ceremony at the stadium isn’t possible, you can still see if you can take pictures with your bridal party there for a super fun photo shoot.
A college-themed guest book
Instead of using a regular guest book for your loved ones to sign, how about whipping out your favorite college jersey from the team of your choice? You can have it framed after the wedding and hang it up in your new house for a bit of spirited decor.
Color palette
Need some ideas for your wedding color palette? Look to your alma mater for inspiration! You can use your school’s hues to decorate your ceremony and reception.
Spirit pictures
Show your school spirit with a fun wedding photo with your bridal party. You could all put on school attire or simply spell out the name of your college in a round of pictures. It’s a fun way to look back on your big day and incorporate something that was such an important part of your life.
Groom’s cake
A groom’s cake is a fun and tasty way to show your college fanhood. Have your baker build you a cake in the shape of your school’s mascot, football stadium or even just the letters of your college.

Incorporate your college’s fight song somewhere in your wedding. It could be for your walk down the aisle, during the cake cutting ceremony or when you make your entrance as bride and groom into your reception venue.
