We may be in the midst of the fall season, but winter is just around the corner. Don’t be bummed that summer is gone – winter is one of the most beautiful seasons in which to tie the knot. Just think about all of the whimsical elements you get with winter that you can’t find in summer: sparkling snow, a crackling fire, hot cocoa, lush green pines and romantic candles. Here are a few ways to get the most out of your winter wedding:

Wedding invitations
Take advantage of a winter wedding theme by rocking it on your invitations. This Winter Foliage Invitation is one of my absolute favorites. It has just the right amount of color with winter berries, pine cones and leaves, and the foliage wraps around your elegantly written text for a cozy and welcoming invitation – a perfect fit for the season.

Matching boots
Forget heels – how about you and your spouse sport a pair of matching snow boots? Not only will your toes be much warmer in these than heels or flats, but they make for absolutely adorable photo shoots. And when you get inside, you can swap them for a pair of feminine pumps or lacy flats.

Place cards
Give your guests’ place cards a little something extra by tying some greenery onto them. Each ecru-colored name card can come accompanied by a sprig of pine for some color and texture that coordinates flawlessly with your wedding theme.

Style board inspiration: winterCozy candles
Candles are extremely versatile and can fit in with any style that you have in mind. Place candles of all sizes and shapes on your reception table for an easy and romantic centerpiece that illuminates the room for an intimate and cozy venue. Pair your candles with a cute quote from a favorite holiday song like, “Baby It’s Cold Outside.”

Faux fur
If you and your bridesmaids are rocking strapless dresses, it can get a bit chilly for an outdoor photo shoot. Warm things up with some fashion-forward faux fur wraps. They give off an elegant and sophisticated look while preventing you from shivering in the winter cold. Choose a neutral-colored fur to coordinate with your bridal ensemble.

Festive cake topper
Stick with the winter theme by topping your white cake with a sparkling deer and white blooms to make it look like a fresh blanket of snow. You can also choose other wedding cake toppers like a shimmering snowflake, sprigs of pine or bright and colorful berries.
