Make sure that you have everything you need before walking down the aisle. Aside from your dress, you’ll want to have your garter, shoes, veil and any jewelry you were planning on wearing. Start at the top of your head and go all the way down to your toes to check off each item on the list.
Rings are pretty essential to the wedding ceremony. After all, you want to actually have a ring to place on each other’s fingers (otherwise, fake it and smile). Be sure to never put a ring in a pocket the day of the wedding, as it can easily fall out – have you learned nothing from The Polar Express? Instead, keep it in a safe spot, like a ring box, and hand it to your most trustworthy groomsman or bridesmaid.
Remember that impromptu speech you had to put together at the last minute in high school? Yeah, probably not something you want to repeat on your wedding day. That sounds like the perfect scenario for a nightmare. If you’ve chosen to write out your vows, tuck them in a place where it will be on your body, whether it’s in your shoe or on the inside of your dress. As a backup, have your vows memorized just in case the worst-case scenario happens.
It may seem like an insignificant piece of paper, but it’s likely the most important paper you’ll have – guard it with your life. A marriage license is a legal document that will allow you and your better half to be legally married. Put a responsible groomsmen or bridesmaid in charge of keeping this paper safe.
Makeup for touch ups
If there’s ever a day to worry about your appearance, it’s your wedding day. Unlike your high school yearbook picture, you can’t just hide your wedding photographs and pretend it never happened. You’re going to be looking back on these photos for years to come, so make sure you don’t cringe when you do. Have makeup on-hand for touch ups to get rid of that zit that just HAD to show up last minute or any redness that may appear.
Don’t jet set off to that remote beach in the Caribbean without your luggage. After all, it might be a little frustrating to not have a swimsuit and have to spend money on clothes rather than fun honeymoon activities.
