A hydrated bride is a beautiful bride! Make sure you have plenty of water throughout the day so that you look and feel radiant. Just be sure that you and your girls have a system for helping you go to the bathroom in your gown!
Start the morning of your special day off with a little celebration. Mimosas are light and refreshing, and may help calm your nerves a bit. Greet your bridesmaids with their very own mimosa kits: a small bottle of orange juice and champagne tied together with a personalized ribbon.
Once your wedding day begins, there is going to be little time for chowing down, so be sure you get some food in you before walking down the aisle. But be sure to choose foods that won’t cause bloat – nobody wants that on their wedding day. Think along the lines of cucumbers, watermelon, bananas, egg whites, red grapes, Greek yogurt, iced coffee or tea, avocado, almonds and string cheese.
Makeup for touch-ups
If you and your bridesmaids have a bit of a moment before the big day and you start to tear up, it’s best to bring along some makeup essentials for last-minute touch-ups. You’ll want to have all the basics, like concealer, mascara, blotting papers and lip gloss.
If your hair is anything like mine and doesn’t hold a curl or seem to stay in place very well, hairspray is a staple. Spritz it on before walking down the aisle to ensure that your tresses look perfect.
Don’t fret if you see one hair out of place – simply grab a few bobby pins to get the situation under control. Your bridesmaids will appreciate having these pins on hand as well.
If there’s ever a moment to be concerned about the way your breath smells, it’s this very day. You’re going to remember this kiss with your other half for years to come, so make sure everything is as fresh as can be. Give your maid of honor the job of carrying mints or gum with her so that you can be ready at a moment’s notice.
