My wedding is scheduled for February 8, 2014. We’re really excited but aren’t sure when it’s right to send the invitations. Can you tell me when I should send them?
Congratulations! It’s great that you’re excited, but it is still a bit too early to send off your wedding invitations. In general, you should send your invites about six weeks before the big day. For you, that would mean around the last week of December. (Although with those dates, you might want to send them in mid-December because of the holidays.)
If you have a lot of guests who will need to make travel and accommodation plans, or if you’re planning a destination wedding, you can send a bit earlier. You still shouldn’t go more than two months ahead of your wedding date, though.
Just because you aren’t sending your invitations out doesn’t mean you can’t send anything, though. Consider sending out an announcement or save the date card. This can be sent any time, and can even help you get an initial head count for your guest list.
Also be sure to give yourself enough time to choose the perfect wedding stationery. While Invitations By Dawn offer a quick 1-3 day production, some styles do require a bit of extra time.
