Having a brunch wedding reception?

By April,

April 1, 2013
If you’re looking beyond the traditional evening wedding reception to a bright and sunny morning brunch reception, there are a few different things you might want to consider to make sure everything goes off without a hitch. Personally, I think brunch receptions are beautiful – they’re always so full of color and the spread of food is often unbeatable. Plus, they’re often less pricey and you’ll have a wide array of venues to choose from due to the low demand for brunch weddings! Check out some of these tips for your dream reception:

Don’t forget drinks
Just because it’s not an evening reception doesn’t mean you and your guests can enjoy a little drink. However, you may want to stray from the beer and wine, considering it may not even be noon yet. But hey, if you’re into that, go for it! Morning cocktails are perfect for a morning affair and they are delish. Some great morning cocktails include tequila sunrises, mimosas, screwdrivers, bellinis or champagne. For those who want to stray from the alcohol, you may want to offer a wide array of juices, tea and coffee. You could even get creative by having a few smoothies!

Think bright colors
Brunch wedding celebrations tend to be on the brighter side because they take place in the morning. Don’t be afraid to gravitate toward bold hues of oranges, yellows and pinks – they’ll photograph beautifully. Fruit is also a modern and perfect option to throw some splashes of color around. Use lemons for centerpieces or dress flower arrangements up with colorful berries.

Bring out the cake
Don’t ditch the cake just because it’s early! You may, however, want to consider lighter flavors like lemon, angel food, cheesecake or carrot. These would pair great with a morning cocktail or juice. As a final touch, top your sweet treat with a whole bunch of fruit for lots of color and even more taste!
