If you’ve ever seen the Disney movie “Tangled,” you know how romantic a lantern release can be. I know I fell in love with it. According to Intimate Weddings, these sky lanterns have been a long-time tradition at Asian festivals for thousands of years. They were used to celebrate the Chinese New Year and used as a signaling device. The flame symbolizes knowledge and wisdom. If you’re looking to go beyond the traditional throwing of the rice, have guests participate in this lantern release, which will be an experience they will remember for a lifetime. Is there a more romantic way to end the night than by sending several dozen delicate, glowing paper lanterns into the night sky?
Sparklers can be just as magical as sky lanterns. They are appropriate for the fourth of July and they’re even more perfect for a wedding send off. At the end of the night, the bride and groom will be surrounded by their closest friends and family along with a sparkling tunnel of light. It’s easy to see why these are a hot wedding trend. The Huffington Post suggested having plenty of staff on hand with long lighters to light a large amount of sparklers at one time. The absolutely gorgeous pictures that result will be enchanting to look at post-wedding.
Celebrate your big day with a bang – literally! I mean, who wouldn’t want to start their new life with their spouse with an amazing light display. You could even opt to have the firework show be coordinated with music of your choice! Your big day is likely going to pass by in a flash, but sitting down for a fireworks show allows everyone to slow down for a bit, put down the cameras and just watch, remember and soak in the moment.
Food (of course!)
What better way to finish off the special day with some delicious treats? After you and your guests have danced your socks off, chances are you may be craving a late-night snack. Polka Dot Bride said that these are a great way to keep your guests’ energy level up and they’re perfect for taking home. The hard part is deciding what snacks you want to bring out! Do you want to go sweet with a s’more station, cookies and milk or mini pies? Maybe you want to go salty with your favorite pizza, mini cheeseburgers, grilled cheese sandwiches or tacos.
