Prep for heat
Although hot styling tools work miracles on the hair, they can sometimes leave it looking dry, damaged and frizzy – exactly how you don’t want your locks to look when you walk down the aisle! In order to prevent this from happening, Rock My Wedding suggested prepping your hair with something that will protect from the heat, while still giving your mane shape, volume and style. Try something like Bumble & Bumble Prep spray.
Get the right tools
In order to achieve this flawless look, you’ll need to be working with the right styling tools. The best way to get these loose, beach waves is with a magic wand. And no, not the kind from Harry Potter. We’re talking about a hair wand. Forget about the classic hair curler with the clamp. All you have to do is wrap small sections of hair around the iron for a defined, beautiful wedding look. After your hair is properly curled, Bella Sugar suggested gently pulling them away from your head to get away from the corkscrew look and achieve soft waves.
Hold it in place
In order to make sure your beautifully styled hair stays in place while dancing the night away, spritz your locks with two things. Rock My Wedding recommended a texture spray including a mix between salt spray and dry shampoo. VO5 Give Me Texture spray should do the trick to finish your hair off with a bit more texture. Complete the look with a bit of hairspray that will give it a strong hold throughout the night without leaving your locks feeling crunchy.
To pin or not to pin
You can choose to leave your hair completely down for a gorgeous style. However, you could also use a few pins to pull some of the hair back to achieve a half-up, half-down look, which is also popular among brides.
