The idea of having a photo booth at the reception has quickly gained popularity over the years. Guests absolutely love these. In between cocktails and dancing, they can sneak away to take goofy pictures in a photo booth that they can share with the bride and groom. To make it even more fun for your guests, include some props like hats, wigs and masks to create even more fun photos.
This may not seem like a very vital element, but when done the right way, the lighting at your venue can really blow your guests away. Don’t be afraid to get creative. Brides magazine suggested elements like candlelight, votives, stringed lights and lanterns. I especially love the hanging paper lanterns which add a warm touch to your event and are perfect for both indoor and outdoor nuptials.
Of course guests are going to love cocktail hour. But there’s a way you can take it up a notch to make it even more memorable. Today recommended having the drinks be served on special trays or even placing drinks along the shelves of a makeshift bookcase-turned bar. Think beyond the traditional bar to give your big day an extra special touch.
Many times, depending on the size of the venue, the location of the celebration can be hard to navigate. I remember wandering through the halls of a hotel searching for a friend’s wedding celebration. Get guests to the party straightaway by placing creative signs around the venue. Depending on your theme, these could range from wooden, rustic signs to elegantly written lettering on a cream backdrop. Either way, this is something your guests will surely appreciate.
Who doesn’t love a good midnight snack? With your guests dancing the night away, they’re bound to work up a healthy appetite. You could go for sweet treats like milk and cookies, apples and caramel or even mini pies! If you would rather go salty, how about mini grilled cheese sandwiches, cheeseburgers or go classy with a cheese platter.
