You’re engaged! Now that he (or maybe you? Hey, it’s the 21st century!) has finally proposed, it’s time to share the good news. But how? Although Facebook is a quick and easy way to spread the word, many are over the whole “posting your engagement news on social media” idea. No worries – we’ve got some other creative options you can choose from that are just as easy and even more unique. I mean, you’re engaged for goodness sake! The occasion deserves an announcement that fits the excitement.

Create a video
Who can resist a good YouTube video? Especially when it’s you sharing your engagement news! You and your husband-to-be can have a blast creating this personal wedding announcement. I’m sure a fair share of you have seen Brian’s engagement video by now! Although Brian caught his proposal on video live, you could opt to re-enact the proposal or simply explain what happened and show off that ring finger. Or if you’re tech savvy, get creative and make a small movie out of it! Email this out to friends and family or watch it in front of them to see their reactions. This option allows you to look back on your announcement for years to come. You’ll be a part of YouTube history!

Host a game night
Get all your friends and family together for a fun game night. Nobody will suspect that you’re really gathering them together to tell them you’re a bride-to-be! My Big Fat Engagement suggested going with charades or Pictionary. You could act it out (let’s hope you’re not terrible at charades) and let your guests figure it out. If you’re more artistically inclined, draw out a picture of a ring and hope your friends catch on. You could also obviously spell out the message using a Scrabble board. After everyone finds out, game night can turn into a celebration!

Photo slideshow
If your man proposed while you two were on vacation or taking a trip, NO Knows Weddings suggested creating a digital album that can easily be shared with friends or family. Put a picture of him down on one knee or a close up of your ring finger at the end of the album. Your friends and family will be in for a surprise! It’s a super easy, but sneaky way, to announce the good news.

Once the cat is out of the bag, feel free to change that Facebook status from “in a relationship” to “engaged!” Don’t lie, you’ve been wanting to do this for quite some time.
