In order to show pride of your home state, spread the love around to each table at your reception! Instead of numbering the tables, consider naming each table based on your favorite cities within the state.
There are so many songs out there that represent hometown pride. Tied Bow Inspiration suggested playing Adele’s popular tune called “Hometown Glory.” If you’re from Chicago, how about the Blue’s Brothers classic hit “Sweet Home Chicago” or if you’re a New Yorker, how about “New York New York” by Frank Sinatra. For a more modern twist, opt for “Empire State of Mind” by Alicia Keys and Jay Z. Talk to your DJ or band about incorporating songs that show your love for your state.
When your guests need a break from the dance floor, how about passing out some cookies in the shape of you and your husband’s home state? There are even ways to add some state pride into your tiered masterpiece. Have your baker design your confection around your state flag or incorporate a part of your state on the cake – like a palm tree if you’re from Florida or the Empire State Building if you’re a New Yorker at heart.
Send your guests home with a reusable tote bag! On Pinterest, I found a bag with a picture of the U.S. on it and a heart in the city of your choice. Print you and your groom’s name and date at the bottom and you’ve got the perfect wedding favor! (As an added plus, this gift is great for the environment.)
There are so many ways you can show your deep pride for your home state on your wedding invitations and save the dates. This State Your Love Invitation is perfect if you and your groom are from two different states. It shows your love for each other as well as your home state in an elegant and special invite.
