A few ideas I especially love: wedding invitations printed to look like airmail and invites printed on a map. Both ideas are vintage and super cute! If you go with the map option, consider having the map include where you met and where you’re getting married! It gives your guest a little insight into your relationship.
As for the cake, there are a bevy of options to make it fit with the theme. After searching around on Pinterest, I found an adorable wedding cake shaped like a suitcase – perfect for travel. If your wedding is focusing on a certain place that you made the voyage to, consider shaping your confection around that! For instance, if it’s Paris, France, why not top off the cake with a tiny Eiffel tower?
Okay, this idea I love. Consider printing your save the dates in the form of a plane or train ticket! Use hole punches to identify the month and date of your nuptials to make it look even more authentic. Just be sure to punch in the right date! One of my favorites is our Classic Map Save the Date – it’s vintage yet still vivid and fun.
If you can’t quite seem to find a gift to present your loved one before the big day, Bridal Musings suggested framing a map. But, not just any map. If you share special memories in a certain location like a first date, a fun vacation or even the proposal, try cutting the destination out of the map in a heart-shaped design. Finish it off by framing it! Such a simple idea – yet so meaningful. Your bride or groom is sure to love this one. And what better way to decorate your new home?
A big globe works as a perfect centerpiece for any travel-themed nuptials. Leave it as-is or place the table number on it for a great way to lead guests to their table. You can also opt to line the head table with multiple smaller globes to help the entire theme to really come together.
