That being said, there are many additional things worth considering when planning a ceremony and reception that are child-friendly. You want to plan an occasion that is in line with what you envisioned, entertaining for the adults and fun for the children – and that’s not exactly a piece of cake. However, there are tons of ways to implement child-like fun into your wedding!
Many couples choose to provide fun kid activities to keep the littlest attendees busy and happy. It’s not uncommon to see a game table at the reception that was set up specifically with the children in mind. Although, it’s also not a rare occasion to see a few adult attendees wander over to the kids area for some fun, too! Some couples will provide children with coloring books for the dinner table, an arts and crafts table or simple board games. I’ve even seen couples go all out and set up inflatable castles for children attendees to bounce the night away!
But throwing a child-friendly wedding is more about just simply keeping the little ones busy. If you have a young ring bearer or flower girl, you can really have a lot of fun and make lasting memories by having a special photo shoot. You can really encourage the littlest members of your wedding party to let loose and do some silly poses!
You can also use this opportunity to bring out the child in you! Embrace some of those child-like tendencies and interests! Decorate the reception hall in fun, bright colors rather than opting for a traditional decor choice such as a white and black color scheme. Find your inner child and then run with it!
