Because you have been such a top-notch planner, you can preemptively resolve issues that could otherwise cause stress on your happy day. For example, being particularly detail-oriented should mean that you arrive at your wedding day with an emergency kit and comfortable shoe backups in hand, have already provided your guests and bridal party with detailed instructions and maps, and have already delineated certain tasks to your best ladies so they’re off of your shoulders and out of your mind!
“It’s easy to overlook the little things,” blogger and professional photographer Cherie Johnson wrote in her entry for Blissfully Domestic blog. “Planning ahead of time is the only way to keep wedding stress at bay. Don’t let months of planning come undone by not being prepared.”
See? Didn’t I tell you that it all comes down to planning? During your planning stage, Martha Stewart Weddings suggested that you perform an assessment to determine who can be counted on should you need them. I do have to agree that it’s always best to know your backup strategy should things not go exactly as planned. Getting into a regular relaxation routine during the planning months can be excellent prep for countering wedding day stressors.
Martha Stewart Weddings specifically suggested developing a meditation routine as mastering breathing control can be of the utmost importance as anxiety rises. If you combine meditation with aromatherapy, you can use relaxing scents to help calm any anxiety as well! However, one of the most important pieces of advice to take away from this article is this: Embrace your nerves! Nerves are normal on a wedding day, so don’t be afraid to feel your emotions out! You simply have to develop the mindset that nervousness is associated with excitement and not fear. You are excited … so let yourself get excited!
