If you’ve got your best gal pal taking the lead in the planning process, you might feel like you must take a ‘laissez-faire’ attitude to avoid being too overbearing or looking like one of those bridezillas shown going all crazy on television! Your best lady is doing everything she does for you – keep that in mind. With that said, this doesn’t mean that you have to get stuck with a party you hate! This is also your last night out on the town as a single woman! A bachelorette party is like a rite of passage and should be in line with what you want most.
There’s nothing wrong with having a more subdued occasion to celebrate this momentous occasion in your life. However, there’s also nothing wrong with going all out wild and saying goodbye to your single life in style! Any maid of honor or bridesmaid should know that the first step in the bachelorette party planning stages is to consult the bride.
If, for some reason, consulting the bride gets skipped in the planning process and you are starting to get nervous about your send off, there are things you can do to politely weigh in on the occasion. One idea is to go through one of your bridesmaids who you trust to get the valuable 411. Another option is to provide your Maid of Honor with a thoughtful gift when you first ask her to fill the role. You could give her a “How To” guide, with tips and tricks to handling all the duties she must fill as your Maid of Honor. You could even scan through the book ahead of time and circle all your favorite ideas.
