You might have already heard the news, but in case you haven’t, Pantone recently announced emerald as the color of the year for 2013. What does this mean for you? Emerald infused weddings for the new year!
Time magazine recently reported about this color announcement, telling us that every year, Pantone conducts numerous polls of designers and brands asking them what colors they’re featuring. Then Pantone uses that information to determine its color of the year. Here’s a little extra information about why Pantone selected emerald for 2013:
“Green is the most abundant hue in nature – the human eye sees more green than any other color in the spectrum,” executive director of the Pantone Color Institute Leatrice Eiseman said in a press release. “It’s also the color of growth, renewal and prosperity – no other color conveys regeneration more than green. For centuries, many countries have chose green to represent healing and unity. Symbolically, emerald brings a sense of clarity, renewal and rejuvenation, which is so important in today’s complex world. This powerful and universally appealing tone translates easily to both fashion and home interiors.”
It sounds like emerald would be the perfect color selection for weddings, symbolically speaking! Brides have long looked to Pantone’s color recommendations for inspiration for their weddings. As wedding season approaches, you can tie in sparkling emerald hues to your wedding invitations, attire, decor, centerpieces and practically any component of your big day.
I love the idea of selecting emerald for your bridesmaid dresses and then donning a pair of emerald green heels to wear with your white gown. Something like these delightful shoes I found on Pinterest. Take a look at this collage of photos I found on Pinterest, which showcases four brides who chose to wear bold, beautiful emerald gowns. My favorite is the white and green one on the bottom left!
An emerald wedding would be the perfect occasion for our Country Chic Invitation in Green. Its bold, emerald hue is exactly right for this sizzling color trend and its airy, feather details lend to its enchanting look. Plus, the photo of you and your partner adds a modern flair!
