Are you a bride who has a ton of girlfriends you’ll want standing next to you on your wedding day? Or are you going to have a smaller wedding party with one or two tried-and-true gal-pals?
Either way, you’ll want to ask them to join you in a special way…because it’s a special job they’ll be doing – supporting you, wearing the dresses you choose, showering you and bachelorette-partying with you.
Here are 5 fun ideas for making your “will you be my bridesmaid?” proposal the start of a great overall wedding experience for your future bridesmaids.
Gourmet mini wedding cakes, cupcakes, cookies or chocolates are a sweet little something to give your future bridesmaid when you ask her to be part of your wedding. Add a little printed tag to the confection, or have “Will you be my bridesmaid” piped on in frosting. Hand-deliver each one…who could refuse?
2. Bring on the bling!
They’ve all seen YOUR ring, so why not give them one of their own when you “pop” the question to them? Find stylish baubles with stretch bands (no worries about sizing) to match each maid’s personality, package it in a jewelry box and treat the asking like a fun proposal.
3. Put it in writing.
Get some gorgeous stationery, a great pen and set aside a couple of hours to write each friend a letter. Tell her how much she means to you. Tell her how inspiring she is. Tell her that you’d love to have her stand beside you on your wedding day. Ask her to call you or meet you for lunch with her answer.
4. Worth a thousand words.
Go through all those photos you’ve taken through the years and put together a photo collage, customized for each bridesmaid. Have the photo collage professionally printed, frame it and deliver it or send it to your friend with a note asking her to be your maid. She’ll love the memories and the gesture!
5. Get personal.
People love to see their name on things. So order up each bridesmaid a personalized item as a thoughtful way to tell her how much it would mean to have her in your wedding. Ideas? An embroidered tote bag, satin ballet shoes in an embroidered pouch or a blinged-out little mirror compact. She’ll treasure the gift – and will certainly say “yes!”
