“Everything about this wedding was magical (and I’m not just saying that because the groom is my stepson!). The wedding was on 9-10-11 at the lake home of the bride’s parents, and was a family affair in terms of everyone being creative and pitching in to help. The weather was perfect, the timing was right on and everyone was beautiful. It was casual elegance at its best, and all the little personal touches made it so meaningful for everyone involved.
1. “Here’s the happy couple – Brittany and Charlie. They’ve known each other since they were 4 years old. One of the bridesmaids told us at the wedding that when she was very young, Brittany had told her that she would marry Charlie when she grew up! The boutonniere Charlie is wearing in the photo is very special. Charlie’s mom passed away a few years ago, and Brittany made him this pin out of a dress of his mother’s. It was like she was here with him on that day.
2. “The red aisle runner was so romantic! It had Charlie and Brittany’s favorite love quotes written on it.
3. “I absolutely loved this idea for the guest book – a pair of vintage skis that everyone signed. They are both downhill skiers, so this was perfect for them.
4,5,6. “Each table was named with the word “love” in different languages from around the world. We made table name card holders out of wine corks to match the red and white wine at each table. And the favors were a knockout – they were jars of spices developed by Brittany’s father, who develops spice recipes. Everyone also got a wooden napkin ring with their name on it. The color of the name let the servers know the guest’s food choice. Clever!
7. “Oh, those cupcakes – they were gourmet and delicious. The perfect choice for a casual outdoor wedding.
“And after the wedding, Brittany and Charlie left on their honeymoon – a road trip out west with no plans but the open road and whatever adventure they came across. It was so them.
“Thanks for letting me share these details with you – and letting the other of the groom “gush” a little bit!” – Robin
